A Christmas Letter

You know those letters that people so eloquently write? This one not so eloquently written, but I told people on our Christmas postcard to catch up with us via the blog, so thought I would sport a little year in review here!

Our year has been one of many transitions. We have survived and thrived through them all and seen many glimpses of God along the way.

Brian - Brian retired from Landscape Architecture and is now a personal trainer. He works at Atlanta Fitness only 12 mins from the house and is doing remarkable well. He has built a strong client base and absolutely LOVES his new career. He is home more and less stressed, what could be better than that? He continues his ministry work with high school students. He has picked up a group of Sophomore students many of whom are the younger brothers of the guys he just graduated.

Amber - Amber started back to work full-time in August. She is split between two schools, still teaching gifted education, grades 1 and 5. She still serves in the high school ministry, but now is a coach, working with leaders of the freshman girls and loving this new role because she still can love on her once high schoolers, now turned college women. She turned 30 this year and was surprised with a trip to Universal Studios, such a blast and a great time to act her age, such a big kid!

Tate - It is amazing the difference a year makes when you look at a child. Tate turned one in March and soon after began walking and hence our lives are forever changed. He took his first plane ride to Utah in June to celebrate Brian's cousin, Nick, graduating from high school. He is still in an in home sitter situation with the mother and aunt of one of Amber's students. Miss Cathy watches him 2 days a week along with her dog, fish, and children ranging from middle school to college when they are around. Miss Jen watches him 3 days a week along with Blake who is 5 months older than Tate and her other 3 when they come home from elementary school. Tate is a very busy boy. He is into everything now and childproofing needs to be bumped up a level where now he can untwist any container, open all doors, etc. He is talking fairly well, mostly one word at a time, but imitates and tries to say and do everything we do. He is signing several words as well which helps communicating some of his basic needs. He is such a joy to be around and lots and lots of entertainment for us.

Hutch and Gretta - Yes they are both still alive and well. (The 2nd much to Brian's dismay)They are adjusting to life as siblings to a toddler fairly well. Tate has yet to be scratched or bitten, they are great with him and VERY tolerant!

Life as a Lamb is one filled with many blessings this year. Brian and I celebrated our 6th anniversary which you can read about in the previous post. God has provided abundantly through all of our transitions and always delivers what we need. We are very thankful for Him and the loving support offered by our friends, family, and smallgroups (present and past). Thank you all for loving us. We wish you a blessed 2010.
