This past week, we have had the opportunity to celebrate life twice. On a sad note, Tuesday, we celebrated the life of my grandmother who passed away on Saturday at the age of 93. She was an amazing woman with an enormous heart. Tate was named after her son, Malcolm - Malcolm McGowan Jernigan. My uncle is how she became my grandma because he married into my family and an incredible story later she is known as my grandmother. Tate luckly had the opportunity to meet her and spend time with her. Though he won't remember those visits, he will hear many stories of her as he grows up.
Tate's final visit with Grandma Jernigan, just a week before Christmas.
The second opportunity to celebrate life came yesterday. We were able to celebrate the life that Brian and I will prepare for Tate in Christ. We dedicated Tate yesterday and have vowed to raise him in a Christian home. As part of the ceremony, Brian and I shared with our family the top 5 values we hope to instill in Tate and also 2 habits we will start to help Tate with these values.
5 Values 2 Habits
*Faith *Pray with Tate nightly
*Honesty *Teach that decisions are based on *Respect for Authority biblical principles
*Compassion for Others
*Generousity
